Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to heal from trauma?
It depends - and honesty matters here more than reassurance For some people, the shift happens relatively quickly. For others - particularly those carrying complex, layered, or developmental trauma - the work takes longer. The deeper the roots, the more patient and consistent the process needs to be. What doesn’t change is the body’s capacity to heal. That doesn’t have an expiration date. What’s been stored can be released The Emotional Liberation work harmonizes with your needs, whether there are areas in your life that simply need tending to or there are deeper issues you would like to explore in order to process and release. One of the most powerful aspects of this work is that it happens in community. Group masterclasses, retreats, and ceremonial gatherings create a dynamic that accelerates healing in ways one-to-one work simply can’t replicate - people learn from one another, and there is profound medicine in witnessing and being witnessed. If you’re wondering whether this is the right fit for you, the best next step is a complimentary Discovery Session . You’ll complete a client intake form first, then we’ll meet on Zoom to see if we’re a good fit.
How is this different from talk therapy?
Emotional Liberation® works at a different level than traditional therapy - and for many people, it reaches places talk therapy never could. It works at the level where patterns actually shift. It engages the nervous system and the body’s learned emotional responses, helping unwind reactive cycles that often persist even when you understand them intellectually. The result is change you can feel and live, especially under stress and in relationships. I’m a credentialed Emotional Liberation practitioner, plant medicine facilitator, and Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist - not a licensed psychotherapist. What I offer sits at the frontier of emotional healing - and for many people, it reaches places other modalities never could.
How does plant medicine mesh with the Emotional Liberation® work?
Incorporating plant medicine with Emotional Liberation® techniques can open you more deeply to the introspection and insights our work together brings. The experience is designed to connect you with your deep inner knowing - through sacred ceremony, reflection, and integration.

Ok, I claim being a Wise Elder!

By Becca Williams  |  August 13, 2026  |  Updated August 14, 2026

A client called me a wise elder after one line pulled back something he didn't expect. Here I unpack what he found on the other side, what he actually took from our session, and what "wise" and "elder" really cost me to earn. Also an invite to join me for my monthly Elevation Ceremony where you can do the same work.

Your emotions are a spiritual map for healing trauma

By Becca Williams  |  April 2, 2026  |  Updated May 13, 2026

Your emotions aren’t random. They’re signals pointing you back to your deeper self. Drawing on Jung’s insight, this piece reframes midlife struggles not as crises, but as spiritual awakenings. When we stop avoiding what we feel and begin processing it, healing, clarity, and real transformation become possible.

Beyond the Guru: An Authentic Spiritual Awakening

By Becca Williams  |  March 26, 2026  |  Updated May 15, 2026

We retired the word "guru" after a parade of scandals exposed beloved spiritual teachers as manipulators and predators. Now, the shaman is having its cultural moment - and the warning signs are beginning to look unsettlingly familiar. Are we romanticizing another archetype of spiritual authority, or have we finally learned our lesson?

Using Plant Medicine For Trauma And True Emotional Freedom

By Becca Williams  |  March 19, 2026  |  Updated May 15, 2026

Cannabis helped me cope long before I understood how it could also help me heal. I was able to side-step Valium and SSRIs - but the trade-off was a secret life that had a character all its own. Navigating an illegal environment just to access my medicine. And what changed everything was learning to ultimately work with it consciously.

Who Loves You, Baby?

Ignored emotions don't dissolve - they amplify. The voices that say you're not enough were once survival strategies. The question isn't whether you feel them, it's whether you're still letting them run the show.

Emotional Liberation

Keep the pain, lose the suffering

By Becca Williams  |  December 19, 2025  |  Updated May 29, 2026

“Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.” This is a phrase that gets tossed around spiritual circles like it’s self-explanatory. Spoiler: it’s not. Most people nod wisely and then immediately go back to suffering because nobody breaks it down. But I believe it’s vitally important for all of us to know that there is an alternative to suffering. Because if we actually understand what this phrase means it can completely change the way we move through emotional pain. “Pain is inevitable” means that emotional pain will happen, no matter what you do.

A little woo-woo… a lot of planetary realignment.

We talk a lot about saving the Earth … but let’s be honest: the Earth has been through worse. Humanity isn't going to "destroy" the planet. If we continue to push the ecosystem beyond its tolerance, Earth won't blink. It will simply buck us off, along with every other species that can't adapt.

Pass the Gravy – Hold the Cannabis

By Becca Williams  |  November 26, 2025  |  Updated May 29, 2026

About a decade ago, living in the cannabis wonderland of Denver – back when legalization there was still new and exciting (and yes, it’s still exciting), I saw a wave of “cannabis catering” take off. Full-course infused dinners. Creative, thoughtful chefs pushing the boundaries of what cannabis and cuisine could do together. These days, it appears the concept has caught on. According to Bloomberg news cannabis is not only showing up at holiday gatherings, it's replacing alcohol in some households.
