Frequently asked questions

How does plant medicine support this work?
Plant medicine is always optional - and when it is included, many find that it can be a potent tool. Used with clear intention and skilled support, it can accelerate access to the emotional material that's been defended against. Cannabis and psilocybin are the medicines I work with, and we cover together everything you need to know before going in.
How is this different from talk therapy?
Emotional Liberation works at a different level than traditional therapy, and for many people, it reaches places talk therapy never could. Talk therapy tends to work at the level of understanding, and understanding a childhood wound, while valuable, rarely completes the healing. This work goes to where the wound actually lives: in the body, in the tissues, and in the emotional patterns that most talk therapy never reaches. The result is change you can feel, especially in situations that used to send you off the rails. I’m a credentialed Emotional Liberation practitioner, plant medicine facilitator, and Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist, not a licensed psychotherapist. What I offer sits at the frontier of emotional healing, and for many people, it reaches places other modalities couldn’t.
Why do the same patterns keep coming up no matter how much work I’ve done?
Most likely because the healing hasn’t yet reached where the trauma actually lives. You can spend years understanding your childhood and still find the same patterns running, because trauma isn’t stored in the part of you that understands things. It’s stored in the body, in the tissues, and in responses that formed long before you had words for any of it. The Emotional Liberation work goes there. And if you’re wondering whether working with me is a good fit for exploring this, the best next step is a complimentary Discovery Session. You’ll complete a client intake form first, then we’ll meet on Zoom to explore what’s possible.
I’ve tried therapy, self-help, everything. Why would this be different?
Because most approaches work at the level of the mind. They help you understand your patterns, reframe your thinking, develop insight. And that’s valuable. But understanding alone rarely changes the deep emotional patterns that drive behavior, especially under stress. The Emotional Liberation work operates at the level where patterns actually live: in the body, the nervous system, the emotional memory that formed long before you had words for it. When you work at that level, the change you feel isn’t just intellectual. It’s embodied. It persists under pressure. It shows up in your relationships, your reactions, your relationship with yourself. That’s what’s possible. And it starts with a single conversation. If you’re wondering whether working with me is a good fit for you, the best next step is a complimentary Discovery Session. You’ll complete a client intake form first, then we’ll meet on Zoom to explore what’s possible.
How long does emotional healing take?
It depends on what you’re healing from and how long it’s been running. Some people feel significant shifts early in the work, something opens that’s been closed for years. For others, particularly those healing from early trauma or long-held patterns of Shame or Depression, the work is slower and more layered. What I can tell you is that healing is not linear. And the capacity for change doesn’t have an expiration date. Emotional fluency is a skill. It builds with practice, patience, and the right support. Trust the process and trust yourself.
Can I do this work without plant medicine?

I get letters: Processing emotions “practices”.

By Becca Williams  |  May 28, 2026  |  Updated May 29, 2026

When NB wrote to me after an Elevation Ceremony describing change on three levels - physiological, psychological, and spirit/emotional, I knew I had to share it. This is what we're actually doing in the work: not suppressing, not bypassing, but moving what's stored. Here's what that looks like from the inside, and why it keeps working long after the practice ends.

If sitting still on the cushion makes your mind louder, you’re not alone. For many, quiet mindfulness meditation amplifies what’s unresolved. There’s another very effective way forward… an active, guided approach that helps you move what’s stuck, often with cannabis used consciously, to soften resistance and deepen the work.

Microdosing with psilocybin is not the ultimate be all, end all!

By Becca Williams  |  April 22, 2026  |  Updated May 5, 2026

Microdosing psilocybin or LSD might feel good on the days you take it. But that’s where it ends, according to the largest microdosing study yet. No breakthrough. No lasting shift. Just a temporary lift that fades as quickly as it comes. The same pattern shows up with full psychedelic journeys too. So if the change doesn’t stick… what are alternatives?

We can send humans around the dark side of the moon, but circling our own emotions? Still a stretch. As we celebrate another leap outward, the real question lingers: what would happen if we put that same energy into exploring ourselves?

Your emotions aren’t random. They’re signals pointing you back to your deeper self. Drawing on Jung’s insight, this piece reframes midlife struggles not as crises, but as spiritual awakenings. Using Plant Medicine For Trauma And True Emotional Freedom

Cannabis helped me cope long before I understood how it could also help me heal. I was able to side-step Valium and SSRIs - but the trade-off was a secret life that had a character all its own. Navigating an illegal environment just to access my medicine. And what changed everything was learning to ultimately work with it consciously.
