My husband and I live in Asheville, NC, although we are both northerners; we met here in 2003. This state has nothing available; although medical mj is on the books, there are no dispensaries! What we do have is an increasing glut of cbd dispensaries.
We have grown our own in our basement since 2009, a few plants usually twice a year. Fortunately we enjoy doing this, especially because it’s cheap and you get exactly the strains you want. However, that is not to say we don’t get nervous if the furnace goes on the fritz and the technician has to walk past the little medicine closet that smells so…fragrant.
In 2021 it seems that politically speaking, the peoples’ voice is still not heard, or if heard, not acted on. Big Pharma and the alcohol lobbyists make sure of that. But I still think that in my lifetime (I’m in my 70s) I’ll see this healing, co-creative partner become legally available to us on a federal level. Why? Because more and more of us are waking up. When enough of us reach a certain level of awareness, then we reach a tipping point, and new doors open, regardless of how strong the efforts to keep them closed.
Thanks so much for speaking for so many of us, Becca. You are greatly appreciated. I have enjoyed deep emotional healing through use of this plant ally. I have come to understand intuitively that it somehow wants to support and work with us if we respect it and use it appropriately.
